The Motorola Droid

The Motorola droid is the latest sexy thing in the world of mobile solutions. Motorola did try and put together an android phone in the past, but this is its first real taste of success in that direction. It is probably one of the first phones in the world that can stand in line with the iPhone and can actually come out better in some respects. The phone is build of really sturdy hardware so it doesn’t die a sudden death the second time you’ve accidentally dropped in, and, may I add, it looks smashing too.

One thing you don’t need to worry about is reception, when you’ve got a Motorola droid tucked away in the front pocket of your jacket. Verizon offers the droid in the United States and we don’t need to tell you about their top notch coverage and extensive worldwide network (yes, sometimes they spell trouble for network giants like AT and T). you won’t find dropped calls on these mobile phones and rarely will a web page take more than a few seconds to load.

The iPhone is probably better to look at, physically. This one is large, and its weight lies at a substantial six ounces. The touch screen measures 3.7 inches across. Screen resolution is much higher than the phone’s at 800*440 mega pixels. The qwerty keypad is finger friendly, though some might think the keys are too small. Let us put it that way.

You can store thousands of contacts and access phone settings, your chosen browser and applications like maps from the large home screen. But you can add many, many of your favorite applications such as Pandora, MySpace and Google voice.

The operating system of the Motorola Droid is the Android 2.0. we can promise you that as a package, the Droid and Android make for something refined, sophisticated and user friendly. Definitely cuts a better figure than anything that has come before.

If o love clicking away with your phone wherever you are, the Motorola Droid is your thing. The 4X digital zoom camera is going to make you go wild. One great thing is that it is not going to make a loud sound when the image is captured. And it works wonderfully even in low light and in the dark thanks to the LED flash installed.

We’ve saved the best bit for the last. You can access Google maps through the Droid. This comes with voice guided navigation. You can even access traffic data and view satellite images on the phone. But you still have more to get excited about. The whole Google maps app comes for free. No, you don’t have to dish out even as little as ten dollars a month to be able to look at the maps as often as you like, and for as long. You won’t need to install any external application either. With a Droid clutched in your hand, you can walk around like you own the world. Get one today, and get going!
