The Nokia 9500

The Nokia 9500 had been much awaited by anyone and everyone connected, however remotely, to the world of the cell phones business. It was a 2004 release, but the Nokia 9500 still has plenty to offer by way of technology and options available to the user. There are loads of features you haven’t seen in smartphones ever before.

The Nokia 9500 comes with a premium quality color display. It also has an 80 MB memory, wi-fi support and Bluetooth connectivity, a VGA camera and triband operation.

The phone is compatible with most programs in Windows and Lotus, so you can use Microsoft Office from your phone. They can run anything with installations of Microsoft Office 97 onwards.

The screen has an internal TFT display which allows for better viewing and brighter images. It is easy to read the screen even in blinding sunshine. The keyboards have been worked upon both on an internal and external level, so you can type faster and more efficiently, without making too many accidental mistakes. There is huge memory space available for storage of downloaded data, besides a large RAM. Most users will like the fact that the processor is extremely fast. But what people will love even more than this is the fact that Wi-Fi support has been enables on the connectivity front. At Wi-Fi focal points, you can connect to the Internet at broadband speeds.

Nokia is a notorious company when it comes to the physical look of their phones. They have done a nice job on this phone compared to their early work, but still, the Nokia9500 is not as light as one of its counterparts in the smartphone world. It is slightly smaller than its predecessor from Nokia, but it is not as slim or sleek as smartphones from other cell phone manufacturing giants.
Let’s list out a few great features that set the Nokia 9500 apart.

  • QWERTY keyboard with shortcut keys
  • Nine way scroll key at the side
  • Email accessibility, both work emails and private accounts on Yahoo, Google and other leading service rpoviders
  • Text messaging is available like on any other phone, but this one supports multimedia messaging too. You can create your multimedia messages by putting together images, videos, and sounds recorded on your phone, and adding text to it.
  • The phone comes with numerous in built applications like word processor, file manager, spreadsheet manager and editor and voice recorder, music player and VPN.
  • Huge contacts base and support for email details and call details. There is also support available for thumbnail images and groups.
  • You get wireless LAN access and Infrared, Bluetooth and USB 2.0 interfaces.
  • With the memory card, you can store additional data apart from the 80 MB already available in the phone proper.
  • Talk time of four to six hours
  • The battery will survive by itself for up to twelve days

The Motorola Droid

The Motorola droid is the latest sexy thing in the world of mobile solutions. Motorola did try and put together an android phone in the past, but this is its first real taste of success in that direction. It is probably one of the first phones in the world that can stand in line with the iPhone and can actually come out better in some respects. The phone is build of really sturdy hardware so it doesn’t die a sudden death the second time you’ve accidentally dropped in, and, may I add, it looks smashing too.

One thing you don’t need to worry about is reception, when you’ve got a Motorola droid tucked away in the front pocket of your jacket. Verizon offers the droid in the United States and we don’t need to tell you about their top notch coverage and extensive worldwide network (yes, sometimes they spell trouble for network giants like AT and T). you won’t find dropped calls on these mobile phones and rarely will a web page take more than a few seconds to load.

The iPhone is probably better to look at, physically. This one is large, and its weight lies at a substantial six ounces. The touch screen measures 3.7 inches across. Screen resolution is much higher than the phone’s at 800*440 mega pixels. The qwerty keypad is finger friendly, though some might think the keys are too small. Let us put it that way.

You can store thousands of contacts and access phone settings, your chosen browser and applications like maps from the large home screen. But you can add many, many of your favorite applications such as Pandora, MySpace and Google voice.

The operating system of the Motorola Droid is the Android 2.0. we can promise you that as a package, the Droid and Android make for something refined, sophisticated and user friendly. Definitely cuts a better figure than anything that has come before.

If o love clicking away with your phone wherever you are, the Motorola Droid is your thing. The 4X digital zoom camera is going to make you go wild. One great thing is that it is not going to make a loud sound when the image is captured. And it works wonderfully even in low light and in the dark thanks to the LED flash installed.

We’ve saved the best bit for the last. You can access Google maps through the Droid. This comes with voice guided navigation. You can even access traffic data and view satellite images on the phone. But you still have more to get excited about. The whole Google maps app comes for free. No, you don’t have to dish out even as little as ten dollars a month to be able to look at the maps as often as you like, and for as long. You won’t need to install any external application either. With a Droid clutched in your hand, you can walk around like you own the world. Get one today, and get going!
